The way I work is mainly a three steps of approval with a previous step only to set things up. There may be changes to this three steps depending on complexity or the commission having a variant or another situation, but mainly, here is the overall process with both of our actions described:

Setup Step: After I accept your Commission Request, I'll communicate with you in the proper channels to get further details before I calculate the pricing of your commission. If you accept the pricing, I'll generate your invoice via Paypal. The first sketch will be sent to you in one week AFTER the invoice has been paid.

Step 1 - Rough:

I'll send you a first sketch. This is supposed to give us the rawest idea of your commission. Depending on how open your commisson idea is, there might be more. I'll refine this first sketch up to the point where everything is set clearly for us both on how I'll proceed with creating your piece. Here is when you have to accept the sketch.

Step 2 - Layout:

Here I'll send you our layout. The idea is that all the things we've set up on the previous step is refined and ready to the finishing step. Here we'll compromise on the design finally; The image should look like a monochrome image that has all our shapes defined, including a summary of the lighting, all the information needed to the finishing step. If, for example, your character has a sword made of rainbows, I'll mark the shape with a color to make it clear how I'm planning to work on it on the finishing step, where I'll color said rainbow. Your acceptance here is critical, as once you accept the image as it is, I can't change the rainbow sword to a chainsaw sword on the next step, I can't change design choices we've compromised on the finishing step even if you changed your mind!

Step 3 - Finishing:

This is it, the final step. If your piece is simple, say Superman and Batman shaking hands, I'll straight up work on the finishing since it's so simple. But, if instead your piece is more complex, say Superman flashing his heat vision at Batman as his kryptonite shield breaks, I'll send you an image collored with the basic colors first so we approve winch tone of black does his cape have in this scene before I send you the finished piece where everything is actually finished.

VERY IMPORTANT: We only go to the next step once you ACCEPTED the step we're in. Please note that accepting a step is a compromise, and specially on the two last steps it's very important that you take your decision mindfully so you're both satisfyed and I don't have to tell you no bc you wanted that rainbow sword to be made of bats now :<

As the whole process goes, you will receive more than just three updates as sometimes I'd like you to confirm if I got the design of your OC right or if you like how I'm interpreting their darkfireblackness blast effect.
